The Supervisor-Environmental Inspections supervises, leads, and monitors all laboratory services, testing measures, sample collections, and wastewater analysis performed in the support of all wastewater treatment operations. Inspects activities for compliance with all state and federal permitting requirements and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Applied Science, Environmental Science or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in environmental laboratories such as air, water, soil, and waste to detect pollutants, contaminations and other ecological indicators.
  • Two (2) years of lead/supervisory responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED plus nine (9) years of the required experience including two (2) years of lead/supervisory responsibilities.
  • Associate degree in any field plus seven (7) years of the required experience including two (2) years of lead/supervisory responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a non-stated field plus seven (7) years of the required experience including two (2) of lead/supervisory responsibilities.
  • Master's degree in a specified field plus three (3) years of the required experience including two (2) years of lead/supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns, reviews, directs, and participates in the work of staff responsible for providing laboratory services in support of wastewater treatment operations.
  • Hires, trains, and delivers performance evaluation and enforces discipline.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of long range plans, programs, and schedules.
  • Supervise, monitors, and reviews analyst performance, testing measures, and data collection and reporting.
  • Plans, controls, supervises, and coordinates activities and evaluates, inspects, and reviews work completion.
  • Monitors and oversees waste water plant performance and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Hears and resolves serious complaints or simple grievances from employees.
  • Finds and implements methods to improve production or effectiveness.
  • Develops, creates, and implements policies, procedures, and standards to standardize laboratory activities, testing, and sampling.
  • Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
