Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; College Degree in Technical Theatre preferred or 4 years equivalent experience managing an Entertainment Technical Crew.
  • Multi-faceted Experience & Knowledge in all disciplines of technical theater, including Lighting, Video, Special Effects, Rigging, Audio, etc.
  • Minimum 4 years practical theater and/or Events Knowledge.
  • Minimum of 2 years required of management or supervisory experience.
  • Technical Direction and Production/Stage Management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, casting, recruitment, auditions, rehearsals, training, interviewing, and staffing seasonal Stage Managers, Performers & technical positions.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds several times throughout a scheduled shift.
  • Ability to climb 60 stairs multiple times per day or ladder up to 40ft.
  • Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions including bright, dark or tight locations, wet, cold, high humidity, or extreme heat.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule with no set days off, including working daytime, evenings, late night, overnight, weekends and holidays.
  • Valid driver license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of project management and budget development.
  • Hands on capability to operate basic technical equipment and troubleshoot basic technical problems.
  • Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of both performance and technical based Stage Managers and Performer and technical support staff.
  • Responsible for the planning and implementation of the daily operation of the venue or show/event including shift and show scheduling.
  • Mentor staff to maintain a successful team-oriented production.
  • Supervision of areas including daily hours reporting, deviation/sign in sheets, overtime requests, theatrical and technical systems.
  • Manage performer schedules, recruitment, auditions, casting, rehearsals, training, and ensure inspections and SOP are followed.
  • Monitor show quality, scheduling and conducting rehearsals, daily meetings and information dissemination.
  • Employee development, employee record keeping, inventory & procurement of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Create & implement SOPs for assigned show/area as necessary.
  • Assist with developing, monitoring and maintaining labor and expense budget for entertainment technical and performer components.
  • Input performer and tech schedules, plan out and develop timeline for Install/Strike/Maintenance cast and crews for shows and events.
  • Maintain the artistic and technical integrity of the show.
  • Act as front-line management representative and liaison with Entertainment Performer, Technical, Production and Operational Entertainment Management Staff.
  • Coordinate and implement Special Shows and Entertainment requirements in show venues or in other facilities as needed.
