Requirements

High School diploma or GED and five years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR
Bachelor’s degree in a technical mining related discipline with at least one summer internship experience (or equivalent) working in mining or industrial environment, including supervisory or lead experience.
Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.

Responsibilities

Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for assigned work unit.
Implement production plans according to approved schedule.
May participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult.
Inspect and evaluate work in progress, identify any problem areas, and may direct remedial action.
Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
Prepare estimates of the staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities.
Maintain an inventory of parts and materials. Approves purchases of materials and equipment; maintain time, materials and equipment use reports. Requisitions tools, supplies, materials and equipment.
Train staff in safety procedures. Maintains safety data sheets for crews.
Perform other duties as required.
