About The Position

The Supervisor, Electric Field Operations provides leadership to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient completion of work efforts relating to the construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration of the electric distribution and transmission systems. This position requires effective coordination among individuals and departments in the district/division, promoting a safety-first work environment and a positive safety culture. The role engages and motivates employees to deliver the best possible customer experience and requires shift work across multiple locations in Connecticut.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience required.
  • Five to ten years of related experience is required.
  • Previous experience in electric distribution is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role is also preferred.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle License required.
  • D.O.T. Driver's License preferred.
  • Working knowledge of methods, work practices, and procedures regarding electric T&D facilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must maintain switching and tagging qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of computers and related technology.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the safe execution of field activities.
  • Sets safety expectations with employees and resolves safety issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicates safety lessons learned and promotes continuous learning of safe work methods.
  • Makes decisions and prioritizes work to ensure the safe use of assigned resources.
  • Sets clear expectations and provides ongoing feedback to employees regarding their performance.
  • Conducts comprehensive performance reviews per applicable bargaining unit contract.
  • Responsible for the proper application of local union contracts and agreements.
  • Works with managers and employees to resolve grievances and concerns.
  • Participates in pre-construction reviews to ensure timely execution of field operations.
  • Coordinates work with other utilities, Eversource departments, and outside contractors.
  • Ensures work is completed within budgetary guidelines.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves time, expense, materials, and other company records.
  • Demonstrates a customer-first attitude and seeks to resolve customer issues quickly.
  • Fulfills storm duty assignments and participates in on-call rotation as required.
  • Continuously monitors the work planning process from initiation to close out.
  • Serves as primary construction liaison with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures job packages are construction ready and material availability meets the schedule.
  • Coordinates with external agencies and internal support to maintain critical path on projects.
  • Supports the scheduler in producing an accurate work schedule.
  • Prepares weekly/monthly status reports highlighting key performance metrics.
