About The Position

The Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor plays a vital role in making sure our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. They oversee and coordinate all associates and tasks, ensuring both the systemic and physical aspects of our merchandise are prepared and processed smoothly, following Hanna procedures. This includes meeting important standards for production, accuracy, and safety. The DC Supervisor manages our Hannas on the floor, ensuring a steady workflow, and takes care of staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, safety, engagement, coaching, and training. Their goal is to meet departmental service targets while creating a friendly and supportive environment. They also rotate Hannas through different warehouse functions to adapt to changing volumes and business needs. This full-time supervisor position is for the 2nd shift, shifts are Sun-Thur, 4:30 PM - 12:30 AM. During the busy peak season (work up to 50-60 hours per week from Oct - Dec months) the hours are 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM with OT on Fridays if needed.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English via email, including sending SOS and EOD updates, submitting IT tickets, and corresponding with cross-functional teams as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise up to 45 Hanna Handlers and seasonal staff during peak.
  • Responsible for training, planning, assigning, and directing Hanna Handlers daily work.
  • Observe and correct issues on the floor. Coach, support, and engage with teams as necessary.
  • Ensure standard procedures are followed correctly, and that production standards/business goals are met.
  • Aptitude and ability to learn and perform any processing function within the distribution center, and to be considered SME of your home function.
  • Canvass for, develop and implement process improvement ideas, for both self and teams.
  • Maintain an elevated level of communication with the DC Leadership team of shift-to-shift events.
  • Provide a communication link between all areas to maintain optimum service levels.
  • Identify productivity and accuracy issues and help to remedy them.
  • Identify and make recommendations on safety issues. Support the DC in driving safety culture/rules to further our goal of 0 accidents.
  • Encourage the reporting of/ correcting near misses, provide detailed and timely reporting, route cause and mediation for working safely and improving safety and other Hanna processes.
  • Builds rapport quickly with Hannas through attentive listening and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Resolve all distribution issues in a timely manner.
  • Set-up monitor and complete re-work projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Always ensure building security and responsibility for transitioning at shift end.
  • Plan for future success through engaging with team, supporting site-based incentives, and cross-training your Hannas to prepare them for their desired succession plan(s).
  • Prepare and deliver performance reviews as needed and ensure you provide each Hanna with opportunity to rotate through measured functions within the DC.
  • Create and update Job Aides and other procedures to assure merchandise quality and consistency to our customers.
  • Communicate with vendors and trucking companies to schedule pickups or deliveries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to be consistent with key performance indicators.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of policy across all shifts and Hanna employees.
