About The Position

The Dispatch Supervisor - Transport must have knowledge of the service area and be able to process orders.  Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent phone skills, work efficiently in a fast pace environment, and have excellent organizational skills.

Requirements

  • AA Degree or equivalent working experience
  • 3 years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, and shipping in a Transportation industry or similar
  • Bilingual Spanish and English

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist with customer calls for deliveries and customer requests. This includes monitoring inbound phone traffic and distributing assigned tasks to direct reports to accommodate fluctuating call volume.
  • Communicate and negotiate with external drivers to insure Customer requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Maintain excellent Customer Service to assigned accounts.
  • Identify and resolve day to day issues as they arise and keep management informed as to their resolution.
  • Identify and recommend on, training and development within the dispatch team.
  • Complete a variety of reports daily.
  • Communicate/interact with customers on a daily basis.
  • Work with Brokerage Department to insure most efficient Load Planning.
  • Participate in employee reviews, discipline, coaching and counseling for direct reports
  • Other duties as assigned
