About the position

MyPath and its Operating Companies provide specialized services and dignified care for children, adolescents, and adults with special needs. Our companies offer a spectrum of services and support that promote the ability of those we serve to live as independently as possible in the community. We are currently seeking a Direct Support Supervisor (DSS) to join our team. The DSS will be responsible for supervising caregiver staff in the home, training, coaching, and mentoring the team. This role involves providing supervision of personnel and client care, enhancing the overall health, safety, and welfare of the clients and programming. As a Direct Support Supervisor, you will maintain work schedules, train staff, and implement company policies and procedures. You will manage client funds and maintain excellent communication with guardians, case workers, and management while monitoring the overall health of clients. Reporting any allegations of abuse, resident rights violations, conflict of interest, harassment, or fraud to management is also a critical responsibility. Maintaining professionalism and confidentiality is essential, as is interacting with clients to assist with their day-to-day tasks and engaging in fun activities with them. Additionally, you will be responsible for health monitoring, medication administration, meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines, light housekeeping, and assisting with personal cares. The role also includes on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise caregiver staff in the home, providing training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Maintain work schedules and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Manage client funds and maintain communication with guardians, case workers, and management.
  • Monitor the overall health and safety of clients and report any allegations of abuse or violations to management.
  • Interact with clients to assist with daily tasks and engage in activities.
  • Administer medication and monitor health as required.
  • Prepare meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with light housekeeping and personal cares.
  • Be available for on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation to and from programs and training classes.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • 1-2 years of previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with individuals with special needs or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage stressful conditions with self-composure and self-control.
  • Successful completion of a caregiver background check, TB test, and health screen.
  • Valid driver's license with 3 years of acceptable driving record required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Additional certifications in caregiving or related fields.
