About The Position

The Supervisor Computed Tomography (CT) is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities and specialized functions of the CT section. This position collaborates with the medical director and/or the appropriate physician in the development or modification of test procedures and protocols. The Supervisor monitors work performed to maintain optimal timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety of CT staff, including ensuring the maintenance of discipline within their section and providing a familiar and structured base to meet accreditation processes for accrediting bodies. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Radiology
  • 3 years CT Required
  • Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
  • Radiology Technologist License (RADTECH) - State Licensing Board in applicable state

Responsibilities

  • Supervise activity in specified area insuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Run reports to track unsigned studies, daily charges and study turnaround times.
  • Log reports with EPIC team to improve workflow.
  • Block and release green time in EPIC to fit staffing needs, meeting schedule and patient needs.
  • Monitor PACS HOLD, FIX, and UNREAD list to ensure studies are read in a timely manner.
  • Provide adequate patient education for procedure and protocol preparation.
  • Provide communication between hospitals and other departments to keep standards high during interdepartmental business.
  • Select and maintain a preceptor for new staff orientation to the department.
  • Research, implement, and maintain new protocols, as prescribed by the radiologist.
  • Assist with HFAP and ISDH survey readiness.
  • Maintain a quality control program in conjunction with radiologist guidelines, and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Facilitate learning for AS/BS students and aid with departmental orientation.
