The Supervisor of Courier Services, in coordination with the Manager of Courier Services, manages the operation of the Courier Service and Bethlehem Mailroom and assists with the Distribution Center and the shop. Manages all courier service and Bethlehem mailroom functions and maintains compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines and requirements. Assures all deliveries and pickups are provided to all St. Luke's University Hospital and Health Network Departments. Manages compliance with Network Vehicle Policy.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration and/or supervisory experience with 7-10 years experience in the following departments required: SPD, Warehouse, Receiving, Distribution, Courier Services, and Purchasing.
  • Thorough knowledge of courier services, inventory control, and warehousing.
  • Experience in Leadership, Conflict Management and Team building.
  • Extensive knowledge of Regulatory guidelines.
  • Thorough Knowledge of warehouse, inventory control and computer application Healthcare.
  • Knowledge of Receiving, Picking and Shipping of Medical Supplies, Furniture and Equipment.
  • Medical Product Knowledge.
  • Computer literate with Materials Management Software and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the selection / training / orientation and assigning of Courier and Bethlehem mailroom staff.
  • Evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Develops the work schedule and attendance records for employees in the Courier Service and Bethlehem Mailroom.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, environmental and infection control standards.
  • Prepares written documentation as required by the department.
  • Maintains departmental reports, records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Works with Network personnel concerning route changes and requests and creates service agreements with all hospital departments and offsite pickups.
  • Assists the Courier Manager with planning, organizing and directing all phases of the courier service activities from the St. Luke's Bethlehem Hospital.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through professional affiliations (i.e.: AHRMM) to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Oversees mail sorting process.
  • Assists in developing and controlling Courier Service Department budgets.
