About The Position

The Supervisor, US Market Technology Communications will be responsible for crafting and driving US technology deployment communications as well as internal US Market Tech communications. This role requires a hard-working writer and organized professional who can partner with key vendors and internal McDonald's teams to provide our 13,600 U.S. Restaurants a seamless deployment and activation experience. As a communicator, this individual will build compelling communications that encourage action and resonate with our audience, foster advocacy among collaborators, and uphold clarity and alignment. They will serve as an influencer and persuader, bridging the gap between technical teams, business leaders, and owner/operators to drive successful outcomes. This individual will be an individual contributor but must have a team-first mentality. This position will join a team at our McDonald's Headquarters in Chicago, IL following a hybrid on-site work schedule.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' proven experience working in business, communications, change management or other related areas.
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills, including a demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical team members, technical language, and offer translation into concepts that are easily understood by general business or executive audiences.
  • Proven track record of creating successful, insight-based, creative communications programs that delivered against brand business objectives.
  • Experience with technology or major program deployment or change preferred.
  • Capable of being structured and methodical, while also flexible and adaptable to changing organization needs, technology innovation, and interpersonal transformation.
  • Comfortable translating complex technical language into easy to understand messages.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365 / O365, including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).
  • Able to show experience with or potential to learn Smartsheet and other digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement detailed communication strategies to foster alignment and support among internal and external collaborators, including owner/operators.
  • Develop compelling narratives, messaging, and storytelling that reinforce the 'why' behind transformation initiatives.
  • Support organizational rhythms, including leadership meetings, engagement calendars, and strategic updates, ensuring transparency and consistency.
  • Develop relationships with cross-functional teams to influence collaborators and address outstanding communication needs.
  • Partner with initiative teams and cross-functional business partners to lead the development and execution of an end-to-end communication plan.
  • Apply change management standard methodologies to ensure smooth adoption of transformation initiatives.
  • Identify and address barriers to change, encouraging stakeholder confidence and reducing resistance.
  • Act as a change agent, promoting understanding and alignment across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead a comprehensive campaign calendar, ensuring team is working in alignment with other communications groups.
  • Act as a peer editor, supporting the strategy and drafting of each other's work, so we can speak with a unified voice.
  • Attend technology governance meetings to represent the communications team, when needed, and act as a thought partner to tech leaders on effective communication strategies.
