About The Position

This role supervises a team of employees engaged in the administration and payment of producer compensation. Oversees staff that ensures producer commissions are made in accordance with required scheduling and in compliance with internal rules and audit requirements. Supervises commission system testing activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business field or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience in the financial services or insurance industry
  • Two years of experience managing employees
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and support in all phases of the commission processes and customer service.
  • Develop, measure, and monitor productivity goals and quality levels of team members and redirect resources as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance or streamline workflows and provide recommendations to management.
  • Hire, train, conduct performance reviews, counsel, coach and develop non-exempt employees.
  • Supervise semi-weekly commission cycles, including ACH transmissions for field agents, for multiple providers in the U.S. including Puerto Rico, and Canada.
  • Ensure that the unit's activities relating to the disbursement of agents' compensation are in compliance with internal and external rules and regulations and are completed timely and accurately.
  • Perform advanced research for resolution of commissions errors or inquiries including through MS SQL queries.
  • Assist with debt reporting processes; research and respond to complex debt rollup related inquiries for field agents, collection agencies, etc. and review requests for long term debt agreements.
  • Supervise the preparation of test plans/scripts, and testing projects for changes to the commissions system.
  • Serve as liaison between commissions and IT staff and or vendors/consultants to effectively test and implement commissions system changes.
