About The Position

Emplify Health is seeking a Supervisor, Commercial Billing and Collections to join our Commercial Billing Department. The Supervisor, Commercial Billing and Collections oversees daily commercial billing operations, ensuring accurate, timely completion of all billing activities. This role leads, coaches, and develops a team of ~29 employees, ensuring compliance with payer policies and regulatory requirements. The Supervisor partners with cross-functional teams to improve billing efficiency, reduce denials, implement best practices, and drive performance through technology and process improvement.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • 3-4 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle with demonstration of increasing responsibility.
  • Passion for service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership and team building capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Professional Biller (CPB), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), desired but not required.
  • Prior supervisory or team‑lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Uses key performance indicators on dashboards and scorecards to monitor performance and direct resources as appropriate.
  • Monitor daily operations to ensure billing staff meet established performance metrics and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare providers and billing departments to resolve claim rejections and payor denials.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing staff to enhance their claim resolution skills.
  • Monitor team performance, providing feedback and coaching to enhance productivity and service quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing-related inquiries and customer disputes quickly.
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures that align with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborates with Revenue Cycle, ITDS and Clinical Operations to identify process errors and design-improved processes.
  • Support systemwide initiatives and works in a collaborative relationship with other departments to improve billing processes.
  • Implements a multidimensional quality control and productive measurement program that assures compliance with regulations and policies.
