This role offers the opportunity to oversee impactful architectural, engineering, and capital improvement projects that support the operation and growth of County facilities. If you enjoy coordinating teams, managing budgets, and ensuring projects meet the highest standards of safety, accessibility, and compliance, this position provides a rewarding environment where your expertise directly contributes to the community. What You’ll Do • Supervise the planning, scheduling, and implementation of architectural, engineering, interior, and capital improvement projects across multiple County facilities. • Oversee the development of project designs, specifications, and construction documents while aligning project scope with budget requirements. • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, trades, and other professionals to ensure projects are completed efficiently and according to plan. • Submit design and construction documents for competitive bidding, evaluate proposals, and recommend contract awards. • Conduct site observations and monitor construction activities to ensure quality work and adherence to project specifications. • Supervise the daily operation of CAD-related hardware and software used for design and facility planning. • Ensure County buildings comply with ADA requirements, ICC A117.1 standards, and all applicable local, state, and federal codes. • Maintain and oversee updates to facilities management and space management databases for the County Service Center Complex. • Participate in developing and managing budgets for capital improvement and special projects. • Prepare and deliver presentations on capital improvement initiatives to Board of Commissioners committees. • Analyze operational needs and financial benefits when establishing or modifying contracts for goods and services.
