About The Position

WCF is an A Rated insurance carrier that is growing and is looking for an applicant that wants to join a company with a great culture, great benefits, and great employees. We have an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join our team as a Supervisor, California Claims. This is an exempt position that reports to the Regional Manager, Claims. The person in this position supervises a team of claims adjusters to assign and maintain appropriate workloads, ensure productivity, customer service, and claims management in accordance with state statutes and established standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or claims designations preferred.
  • At least five years of adjusting experience.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant claims statutes and case law.
  • Thorough knowledge of handling complex, litigated claims.
  • Strong understanding of terminology relevant to claims
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organization, time management, and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree or claims designations preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of claims.
  • Oversee a team of adjusters to support the claims adjusting, litigation, and case management function.
  • Audit claims, enter supervisory reviews in claims, and understand and report on performance of their team.
  • Prepare and participate in claim reviews and assist with training new and existing employees.
  • Review all types of claims settlements and liability denials for propriety, content, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with management to hire, train, motivate, supervise, and mentor a team of adjusters to support all aspects of claims functions.
  • Stay current on all relevant law and regulation changes.
  • Promote excellent customer service.
  • Maintain appropriate communication with internal and external contacts including attorneys, investigators, policyholders, agents, and providers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and consistency in applying WCF's claims and state auditing standards.
