About The Position

The Metrology Supervisor is responsible for the calibration program for all critical instruments and interacts with the QC management that is responsible for analytical laboratory instrument calibrations. The position requires supervision of direct reports (metrologists and senior metrologists) in the execution of these duties and management of an external calibration contractor. The Metrology Supervisor will provide coordination of activities of calibration in support of Fresenius-Kabi production to meet established and expected quality, regulatory and customer requirements. Salary Range: $73,614 - $103,528 Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 6% of the base salary. Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Science related field and 3 years of metrology related experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry; or associate degree in a Science related field and a minimum of 4 years of Metrology-related experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry.
  • Must be familiar with concepts of metrology as applied to the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry
  • Demonstrated skill in leading a team of specialized, technical, and competent resources.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Visual ability to adequately read and prepare technical documents and records.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in the area of problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Measure, review and provide periodic reports and briefings on productivity, improvements, and performance to commitments, established targets and key indicators.
  • Provide support through supervision of direct reports in the execution of calibration procedures.
  • Administer the calibration database to ensure compliant, accurate and timely record keeping of instrument schedules and compliance.
  • Manage direct reports in the execution and support of the department’s responsibilities.
  • Provide efficiency metrics to upper management on a monthly basis for review purposes.
  • Evaluate calibration intervals on new and existing equipment to reflect the risk assessment based upon the calibration history or the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Initiates, assigns, and investigates out of limits notifications.
  • Ensure that all documentation and records, including calibration procedures, instrument calibration service records, customer calibration files and training is complete, accurate and maintained in conformance with applicable requirements and company policies.
  • Must be proficient in developing calibration and instrument suitability procedures for analytical instrumentation and formatting in standard operating procedure document.
  • Must be the site owner of the Blue Mountain RAM system. This includes all site procedures and interactions required with the BM RAM system.
