HERO is seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our team as Supervisor - Biomedical Engineering. This is a working manager position located in Springfield, OR, where you'll supervise and coordinate the activities of Biomedical Engineering Technicians while also performing hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance of medical equipment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of healthcare technology, supporting our clients in providing exceptional patient care.

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of biomedical technicians in the shop.
  • Perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections on a wide range of medical devices.
  • Manage schedules and workloads to ensure timely completion of all assignments.
  • Assist with training and development of team members to maintain high service standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team for troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
  • Prepare and submit service reports and documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration and clinical teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
  • Monitor and uphold safety standards and quality control in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in Environment of Care reporting and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • At least 5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, with 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience working within a hospital or healthcare organization setting.
  • Proven competency in a variety of medical devices and standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Associate's Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent training (e.g., military) required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CBET certification is preferred but not required.
