Job Overview The Supervisor, Behavioral Health applies psychological/counseling principles in assessment, clinical interventions, research, training, case management, and consultations. The Supervisor helps in developing programs and provides supervision to clinic-based and/or school-based licensed and non-licensed social workers and staff. The Supervisor integrates behavioral health services into a primary care setting. Responsibilities include diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning. The Supervisor provides a variety of interventions, such as individual, group, child, and family therapy. The Supervisor Interventions focus on short-term problem-solving therapy, short-term cognitive behavioral therapy, brief psychodynamic therapy, crisis intervention, coping skills, substance abuse treatment, behavior modification, case consultations, and other evidence-based practice techniques. The Supervisor participates in multidisciplinary teams typically comprised of medical providers, nursing and medical support staff, case managers, administrators, managers, and directors. The Supervisor collaborates with the patient to communicate treatment goals and measures of success by utilizing evidence-based outcome measures. The Supervisor attends various conferences and workshops related to mental health treatment and may participate in research studies, multidisciplinary projects, and attend community events/networking.

Requirements

  • Professional Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and/or Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist by the California Behavioral Science Board.
  • Master’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children required.
  • Completion of 15 units in Supervision coursework.
  • A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supervising MFTs and/or ASWs preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish or English and other predominant language of the population served preferred.
