About The Position

Supervises and coordinates the day to day operations of Anesthesia Technologists. Ensures adherence to established maintenance and decontamination standards and procedures.

Requirements

Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Current Anesthesia Technologist Certification, and Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.

Responsibilities

Promotes Anesthesia department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
Leads the activities of assigned Anesthesia team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff.
Prioritizes schedules and assigns work to optimize operational service.
Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
Ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
Trains staff in the operation, troubleshooting and initiation of repairs to anesthesia equipment.
Supervises and maintains anesthesia equipment located in satellite procedural and ambulatory surgical centers.
Ensures staff adherence to safety and infection control policies including decontamination procedures and waste disposal.
Monitors the environment and equipment to ensure decontamination standards are maintained.
Prepares appropriate departmental statistics, QA monitors and provides reports to management, including monthly laboratory QA and Blood Salvage reports.
