About The Position

The position supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. The individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Responsibilities include determining, coordinating, and supervising daily staffing assignments and levels, providing direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff, and performing or assisting with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. The role also involves assessing and ensuring the quality of services delivered and facilitating staff development programs, ensuring compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols, and leading the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Regular and reliable attendance is required, along with the performance of other duties as assigned. The position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors, and involves access to sensitive and/or confidential information. A comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA) is necessary, along with knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in related field preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Moderate computer skills including frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and graphics.
  • Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
  • Moderate communication skills for training others and making presentations.
  • Ability to handle routine business problems by following clear directions and procedures.
  • Moderate independent judgment with defined results and personal goal setting.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with moderate complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments and levels.
  • Provide direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Perform or assist with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Assess and ensure quality of services delivered.
  • Facilitate staff development programs.
  • Ensure staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Perform staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
  • Lead the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
