Purpose & Scope: Responsible for assisting in the supervision of the Accession Area. Major responsibilities include the overall supervision and performance of the accession area. Other duties include monitoring coding errors including CPT and ICD-10 of the laboratory information system, resolution of appropriate problems with specimens, patients, and courier routes, monitoring patient and workflow and adjusting personnel as necessary, facilitating cross training of personnel in all job functions in this area, assuring compliance with hospital and department policies, and monitoring work hours of personnel in this area. Responsible for reporting problems to the Supervisor and providing input on staff performance and evaluations.
