Under the direction of the Director of Academic Programs within the Division of Teaching and Learning, the Supervisor of Academic Programs provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of regional and countywide academic programs. The supervisor supports school-based regional program coordinators to ensure high-quality program design and delivery aligned with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and the district’s strategic plan. The role includes supporting school-based staff, supporting equitable access to programs, leading cross office project teams and collaborating with schools and offices, and monitoring program outcomes. The supervisor also facilitates professional learning, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen program quality and expand opportunities for students.

  • Provide leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs.
  • Support school-based regional program coordinators to ensure high-quality program design and delivery.
  • Facilitate professional learning and stakeholder engagement.
  • Lead cross office project teams and collaborate with schools and offices.
  • Monitor program outcomes and support equitable access to programs.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, curriculum and instruction, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of successful experience as a teacher.
  • Two years in an administrative or leadership role (e.g., assistant principal, coordinator, or supervisor).
  • Experience leading program implementation and supporting diverse learners.
  • Ability to analyze and apply data for program planning, monitoring, and improvement.
  • Completion of Observing and Analyzing Teaching I or II, or completion within one-year of the position start date.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with diverse stakeholder groups.
