This position is expected to lead the activities of the maintenance department to ensure that equipment is being properly repaired, maintained, and available upon customers request. Supervisor oversees preventative maintenance and service programs and ensures compliance with corporate policies and government regulations. Supervisor coordinates activities of 15+ employees involved in vehicle maintenance. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Manage and prioritize the tasks of 15+ mechanics. Issues written and oral instructions. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Reviews all work orders, service reports, labor time sheets and material requests for accuracy before submitting to clerk for action. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. Maintains harmony among workers. Oversees the job sites to ensure all safety precautions are being implemented. Inspects work site during and after completion to determine quality and completeness. Completes In-House Quality control reviews, spot checks, note changes for improvement. Supervise parts and inventory ordering to increase mechanic efficiencies. Communicate with management regarding employees conduct and handle disciplinary action as needed. Assist in hiring and staffing needs by interviewing and selecting qualified candidates for hire. Conduct safety meetings. Ensure Shop Cleanliness and Safe work environment. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
