Under the general direction of the Deputy District Director (DDD) for Program Project Management and Asset Management, a Principal Transportation Engineer, the incumbent will have overall responsibility for the oversight and management of the District's State Highway Operations and Protection Program (SHOPP), Minor, State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) Programs and locally funded projects. In addition, the incumbent serves as the manager and supervisor over a team of senior level project managers and project management support unit in accordance with policies and practices governed by Caltrans. The incumbent assigns work and monitors timely delivery of capital projects within schedule, scope, and budget. The incumbent also advises Project Management staff and the DDD on critical issues that impact program and project delivery, as well as represents the DDD and District Management to various external agencies, including federal, state, regional and local transportation, and regulatory agencies. The incumbent provides a strong leadership role in the District's efforts to enhance project level engagement within the communities of District 10.
