About The Position

Under the general direction of the Chief, North Region, Division of Project Development - a Principal Transportation Engineer- the incumbent supervises and directs the work of staff within various Engineering Services units, including Engineering Services, Hydraulics, Landscape Architecture, Office Engineering, and Utility Engineering. Responsibilities include ensuring the timely delivery of technical services and deliverables to Design Lead Teams, District Management, and project Managers. Specifically, the incumbent is responsible for the production of design and preliminary engineering documents, PS&E packages, and related services for regional and brokered work. Travel is required. Possession of a valid California Drivers License is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle. You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
• One year of transportation engineering experience as a senior level engineer in the California state service.
• One year of supervisory or managerial experience equivalent in level to a Senior Transportation Planner in the California state service.
• Two years of civil engineering work at the Associate Engineer level or higher in the California state service.
• Broad and extensive (more than five years) transportation engineering experience, two years of which are equivalent in responsibility to the senior level engineer in the California state service.
