About The Position

Amentum, Nuclear Projects – Denver is seeking a Supervising Systems Engineer I to lead the systems engineering scope for nuclear and other high-hazard / high consequence projects. The Supervising Systems Engineer is responsible for leading and performing requirements management, integration, and verification of client requirements across multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure successful delivery of complex engineering projects for the Department of Energy (DOE) and other nuclear clients. Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, project management, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration will be instrumental in influencing the success of intricate nuclear projects. As a Supervising Systems Engineer, essential responsibilities include: Planning, leading and reviewing Systems Engineering activities for the development of advanced nuclear facilities and laboratories. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in the development of requirements for nuclear infrastructure projects. Assemble and manage the definition of requirements to satisfy customers and project end goals. Drive configuration management of systems generated deliverables Communicate in a manner that is consistent, effective, and efficient in both written and oral forms, across all levels of the project (customer, internal resources, suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, etc.). • Interface with client stakeholders to ensure project expectations are being met. • Assist the project team and other stakeholders in developing interface definitions and controls to ensure integration across engineering disciplines and with owner and third-party vendor supplied special equipment. • Manage requirements in a database tool to assist in documentation, control, and verification of requirements. • Ensure the project team maintains requirements compliance and that requirements are satisfied during project delivery. Demonstrate the achievement of verification in a database tool and published reports. • Assist the project team in change management and impacts to satisfying documented requirements.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 5-7 years of Engineering experience.
  • Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple levels and reporting lines.
  • Must demonstrate a well-rounded knowledge of engineering disciplines associated with nuclear facility infrastructure.
  • Must have strong relationship management, facilitation, and consulting skills.
  • Demonstrated experience / knowledge of the Engineering Design Process (control of design inputs and verification/validation of outputs).
  • Experienced / skilled in change management.
  • Appropriate combination of education, experience, and competency: Experienced in utilizing a comprehensive requirements management system or a particular Requirements Management Tool (e.g. Jama, DOORS, etc.).
  • Experienced and fully versed in writing and reviewing technical quality documentation.
  • Experience working in safety and operational requirements, from initial design to final implementation, by managing requirements, conducting analyses, and verifying compliance.
  • Experience working with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience with at least 2+ years leading technical teams.
  • INCOSE ASEP certification, required
  • Proficiency in TraceCloud requirements management tool, highly desired
  • Knowledge of DOE orders, standards, and guidelines for nuclear facility design
