Responsibilities
- Perform financial and accounting due diligence procedures for buy-side or sell-side due diligence engagements
- Identifying and communicating critical deal issues and the strength and weakness of the business against industry benchmarks to client management that could impact the purchase price or the deal structure
- Challenging assumptions related to future financial projections
- Identifying critical post-closing matters to be addressed to ensure improvements in profitability and cash flows
- Interacting extensively with personnel of the target companies and the client
- Reviewing and preparing due diligence reports outlining analyses and findings
- Assist with the finalization of opening balance sheet of purchase price allocations and closing working capital calculations
- Comfortable with advanced Excel functionalities: building flatfiles, pivot tables, macros, and using advanced formulas such as SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, INDIRECT
Requirements
- GPA of 3.5 or better
- Rated top 25% of Big Four class
- 2-5 years of prior experience in public accounting
- Experience with a Big 4 or large firm's transaction advisory services a plus
- CPA preferred or actively pursuing completion of certification
- Ability to take responsibility and account for his/her own work
- Hard-working, detail-oriented and ability to work independently
- Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
- Professional and personable demeanor
- Proven solid verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for helping clients with a strong interest in technical accounting
- Experience with advanced data applications like Power Query and/or Alteryx
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required
- Some travel (about 25%)
