About The Position

NBC News is seeking a Supervising Producer to join TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle. PLEASE NOTE: This is a project-based position with an estimated duration of 6 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables are completed. Job Duties: Lead the sourcing and booking of lifestyle and human-interest stories, including relationships, wellness, parenting, pop culture, food, travel, and viral trends Review, edit and sign-off on scripts; serve as the primary approver of cut spots Oversee day to day show content for all lifestyle and human-interest segments including concept, production elements and script approvals. Organize brainstorm sessions and evaluate pitches Oversee and maintain the daily guest schedule, ensuring editorial balance Oversee editorial content for commerce and integrated sales segments Identify and develop stories with an eye toward future trends Manage a team of producers, associate producers and researchers Serve as leader/mentor in the newsroom

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in editorial and show production at the network level, preferably with daytime television
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and interest in news and current events
  • Must have strong writing skills, research skills and editorial judgment
  • Must be willing to work in NYC
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
  • Knowledge of NBC News Policies and Guidelines and Practices
