The Wall Street Journal is seeking a Supervising Producer of Audio to join its audio team to oversee two shows: a fast-growing interview series and another new show currently under development. This editorial role requires excellent journalistic instincts, creativity with show development, production and logistical knowhow, and team-management skills. A track record of editorial leadership, collaboration, decisiveness and clear communication are critical for this position. You should have a proactive and entrepreneurial spirit with a startup mentality. A passion for innovation and experience managing weekly productions in a global news organization are also a must. As the Supervising Producer, you will work closely with the Deputy Editor to oversee and coordinate production of audio news, features and series, manage assignments, and help produce and edit audio. Your work will include helping to oversee video podcasts in collaboration with the WSJ Video team. Top candidates for this role will have excellent editorial judgment, a history of developing new formats, strong production experience and team-management skills. Though you will be a key manager in this unit, this is a hands-on role. We are seeking an experienced producer with a track record of pitching, developing, field producing and elevating original audio series. A background in podcasting, radio or another comparable medium is preferred. Experience in storytelling in multiple formats, including narrative-style podcasting, video and an interest in or experience covering business, tech or innovation is a plus. This position will be based in our New York City office and reports to the Deputy Editor.
