Join #TeamAcenda and make a lasting impact. Job Overview Supervising Prevention Consultants are responsible for planning and implementing programs in schools and communities. They establish alliances with organizations which have similar or allied goals, such as school boards, local law enforcement agencies, healthcare providers, community centers, and service providers. They serve in a leadership customer service role to ensure positive relationships in interactions with all schools and the community. They provide supervision to a team of prevention specialists who will provide trainings and workshops to community and youth and implement evidence-based prevention services and curricula with fidelity. As an integrated health organization Acenda values the use of evidence-based practice or EBP's. Program Info NJ4S is a statewide, innovative hub-and-spoke model which supports youth mental wellness and promotes prevention of bullying, teen suicide, substance use, and more. Most importantly, the hub staff will connect students and their parents/caregivers to other services that support students' social, emotional, and mental health and well-being.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, public administration, social work, etc.) required.
  • Experience in community organizing, developing community partnerships, implementing evidence-based programs and project management.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience working in social service environment implementing evidenced based practice models; three (3) years of which shall be in a supervisory capacity.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.
  • Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates will have experience working with and empowering at-risk youth and marginalized communities by conducting prevention education (e.g., substance abuse, pregnancy prevention, mental health, and wellbeing session, etc.) activities.

Responsibilities

  • Program Planning and Implementation: Develops and implements prevention programs within schools and communities, tailoring them to local needs and aligning them with the NJ4S Hub plan.
  • Supervision and Leadership: Supervises a team of prevention specialists, providing guidance, support, and ensuring the quality of their work, including training and workshops.
  • Evidence-Based Practices: Ensures that all prevention activities are evidence-based and implemented with fidelity, meaning they follow established guidelines and best practices.
  • Community Partnerships: Establishes and maintains relationships with various organizations (schools, law enforcement, healthcare providers, etc.) to create a network of support for prevention efforts.
  • Data Collection and Reporting: Assists with data collection, reporting, analysis, evaluation, and quality improvement processes related to intervention and prevention activities.
  • Customer Service: Serves as a role model for positive interactions with all participants, including students, families, and community members.
  • Training and Workshops: May be involved in delivering training sessions, workshops, and presentations on prevention topics.
  • Collaboration: Works with school districts, community service providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate intervention and prevention initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
