About The Position

The Supervising OB/GYN Physician works with the leadership of the Women's Health department in building the Sexual and Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecologic practice at the centers, evaluates the quality of patient care and serves as consultant to other health care professionals. This position is responsible for providing high quality primary and preventative care in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Women's Health at CHN centers, supervising Women's Health and other providers and clinical team members rendering Family Planning services and serving as consultant to other health care professionals. When required, responsible for working with the Medical Affairs staff for managing clinical operations as it pertains to Women's Health Services at CHN.

Requirements

  • MD License in NYS.
  • Board certified in OB/GYN.

Responsibilities

  • Provides medical services to patients in accordance with CHN clinical policies and procedures on a regularly assigned schedule.
  • Assists in training of staff and students around Women’s Health topics.
  • Assists Medical Director for Women’s Health in quality assurance, chart review, policy creation and implementation and other leadership roles in the department.
  • Serves as Director for Women’s Health in his/her absence.
  • Comprehensive examination and diagnosis of patients at an assigned center or centers.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Women's Health, Center Medical Director, Director of Primary Care.
  • Assists in reviews of administrative and clinical policies and procedures annually to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements—proposes changes and new policies to the Director for Women’s Health and the Vice President of Medical Affairs.
  • Assures that providers, nurses and laboratory staff adhere to CHN policies and procedures in the delivery of care.
  • Works with the Medical Affairs central office to ensure new staff are trained and oriented to CHN.
  • Participates in monthly clinical staff meetings and monthly Providers’ meetings.
  • Oversees the chart audit process and maintains a peer review process for assigned providers.
  • Works closely with the Medical Director of Infectious Disease and the Director of Women’s Health in all areas concerning HIV and Women’s Health issues.
  • Facilitates related services for health center patients and CHN staff as appropriate, with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
  • Participates in continuing education and maintains credentials as required.
  • Participates in committees and conducts other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with performance evaluations, Employee Health Service, and agency and clinic/Department orientation of new employees.
