About The Position
The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Bureau Chief with experience directing staff in the review and evaluation of insurance rate data. Under direction of the Rate Regulation Branch Division Chief, the Supervising Insurance Rate Analyst plans, assigns, and directs staff in the review and evaluation of data upon which insurance rates are based. Major responsibilities also include the analysis of rates, rating plans and rating systems of various rating organizations and insurers, supervision of staff, participation in negotiations and hearings on rates, acting as a technical consultant to the Insurance Commissioner at such negotiations and hearings, and meeting and corresponding with insurers and insurer representatives.
