About The Position
The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Bureau Chief with experience developing and training staff, and knowledge of intake processes for insurance rate filings. Under direction of the Rate Regulation Branch (RRB) Division Chief, the Supervising Insurance Rate Analyst plans, assigns, and directs staff in the Program Office, which includes the Training, Special Projects, and Intake and Support Units. Major responsibilities include supervising and leading staff in the design and creation of training for RRB staff, documentation of policies and procedures, evaluating rate applications for completeness, production of special projects, and development of internal audit procedures. The Supervising Insurance Rate Analyst acts as a technical consultant to the Insurance Commissioner, and meets and corresponds with insurers and their representatives.
