  • Designs, plans and lays out electrical work and signs all electrical permits.
  • Directs, supervises, and/or controls the installation or alteration of electrical services.
  • Ensures all electrical installations meet minimum safety standards.
  • Ensures proper electrical safety standards are used.
  • Ensures all electrical labels and permits required to perform electrical work are used and signed.
  • Complies with corrective notices issued by the inspecting authority.
  • Performs high level corrective and preventive maintenance and repairs to City buildings, facilities and parks.
  • Installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, building automation control systems, operation of boilers, chillers and generators, locksmith duties, pool and fountain operations, etc.
  • Inspection, repair and maintenance of aquatic facilities as a back-up resource when necessary.
  • Performs high level repairs of plumbing and piping fixtures and performs a variety of skilled carpentry tasks.
  • Safely operates City owned fleet vehicles to respond to various sites, parks and facilities.
  • Assists the City Locksmith as assigned. Repairs and maintains locks and hardware and produces keys; records and maintains the master key system, key control records and access cards assigned to City staff.
  • Identifies and assesses maintenance and repair needs and takes appropriate action to resolve issues.
  • Assists with developing preventative maintenance schedules and participates in long-range equipment replacement strategies and budgeting.
  • Places material and supply orders for maintenance and repair projects.
  • Graduation from high school or GED.
  • Current Oregon State General Supervising Electrician License.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible building and facility operations, maintenance and repair experience.
  • Ability to effectively use office equipment and computer software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Building Operator Certificate.
  • Oregon Boiler Operator's Certificate.
  • Oregon Journeyman HVAC/R License.
  • Forklift Operator's Certificate.
