About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The Bronx District Attorney’s Office is comprised of a highly skilled and well-qualified staff whose diverse backgrounds reflect and serve the more than 1.5 million residents of Bronx County. Together, we work to pursue a safer Bronx through fair and equitable justice. We are currently seeking experienced attorneys (4+ years) to serve as Supervising Assistant District Attorneys (Supervising ADAs). Supervising ADAs play a critical leadership role in our Office. In addition to guiding and training Assistant District Attorneys, they help cultivate a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven culture. Supervising ADAs are essential in fostering professional growth, providing ongoing feedback, modeling high ethical standards, and ensuring that each ADA has the support, structure, and mentorship needed to thrive. They also oversee case management and support the day-to-day operations of their assigned bureaus. At this time, opportunities for Supervising ADAs are available in the following bureaus: - Felony Trial Bureau 30 - Felony Trial Bureau 40 - General Crimes (Misdemeanor) Bureau

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctorate degree required
  • Admission to the New State Bar required
  • U.S. Citizenship and New York State residency are required as of first day of employment
  • 4+ years of trial experience or the equivalent required
  • Demonstrated experience in training, lecturing, coaching, or mentoring attorneys or legal staff
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to supervise and support staff in both in-person and remote settings, as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, collaborative demeanor
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, uphold the highest ethical standards, and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage issues from inception through resolution
  • Proficiency with computer systems, digital evidence platforms, and common office software

Responsibilities

  • Participating in the training, mentoring, and professional development of Assistant District Attorneys
  • Helping to supervise the daily operations and workflow of the assigned bureau
  • Maintaining an active caseload of criminal matters
  • Conferencing cases, assigning matters, and providing guidance on case strategy
  • Overseeing and participating in key stages of litigation, including first and second Grand Jury proceedings, pre-trial hearings, and trials
  • Working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet operational demands
  • Performing all additional duties as required by the specific bureau’s role and responsibilities
