About The Position

The Supervised Visitation (SV) Monitor is responsible for fostering a safe and trauma informed environment in which supervised visits take place between the visiting party and child(ren). The SV monitor is responsible for conducting observational visits with families and documenting visits in real time. The SV monitor must remain neutral and professional when conducting observational visits and may need to offer support and crisis de-escalation to families as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have a current, valid driver’s license and auto insurance (must be kept current at all times).
  • 6-12 months’ work experience in the mental health/domestic violence prevention.
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess a level of treatment skills as related to the behavioral health field.
  • Reliability and the ability to independently manage time and be flexible
  • Possess skills of assertiveness and ability to present self in a professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in human services or a related field; or combination of college coursework with work experience in the mental health/domestic violence prevention (Preferred).
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred).
  • 1+ years’ work experience in the mental health/domestic violence prevention (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Actively adhere to the six core principles of trauma informed care and promotes a trauma informed culture.
  • Observes and records interactions during supervised visits.
  • Intervenes as necessary.
  • Collects and documents payment of program fees and issues receipts.
  • Documents all contacts, including visits and exchanges.
  • Completes accurate and factual documentation of all visits.
  • Maintains program files and records.
  • Follows orders as set forth by the referring court.
  • Ensures the safety and security of all participants.
  • Must be able to deal with difficult people from a diverse population effectively.
  • Must be able to prioritize problems as to meet all requirements and demands.
  • Maintains communication with director regarding any changes, issues or concerns in the provision of service.
  • Works collaboratively and communicates appropriately with other staff members.
  • Attends and participates in team meetings, staff meetings, and supervision as scheduled.
  • Knows chain of command and utilized supervision effectively.
  • Participates in training and professional development in order to maintain professional licensure, enhance skills and knowledge base and comply with training regulations.
  • Responds respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, classes, race, ethnic backgrounds, and religions in a manner that recognizes, affirms, and values the worth of individuals, families, and communities and protects and preserves the dignity of each.
  • Adheres to ethical standards of professionalism including maintaining confidentiality of each child and their family, in compliance with HIPAA and agency policies.

  • Participates in Holly Hill’s Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) activities as assigned.
