About The Position

The Superintendent, Electric Operations, is responsible for the overall operation of the Division's electric business. This includes leadership of supervisors and field co-workers, driving results with respect to oversight of safety programs, compliance with collective bargaining agreements and electric operating budget responsibilities. Further, the Superintendent must: Exhibit the ability to inspire and engage co-workers, deliver results, think-customer, champion learning, and collaborate with Division teams to deliver exceptional customer service; Embrace the responsibility for communicating the connection between overall Ameren strategy, functional area vision and department goals; Help the team understand how they contribute to the overall Ameren vision; Delegate work to leverage team strengths while accomplishing business results; and Identify strengths and development opportunities for self and others.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ten or more years of relevant experience (e.g. planning, analysis, or design of electric distribution systems, vegetation management, electric construction/ maintenance, heavy industrial or military environment, Labor Relations) required.
  • Four or more years of supervisory experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Knowledge of specific Ameren applications (e.g., OAS, DOJM) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of budgeting systems also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of safety and zero unsafe acts by championing safety efforts, achieving safety objectives, and ensuring that safety is a value of every co-worker.
  • Lead, develop and evaluate co-workers engaged in construction, operations and maintenance activities for the electric distribution systems in the assigned division.
  • Direct and coordinate these activities with customers, contractors, and other company stakeholders.
  • Plan, schedule, and direct the activities of the crews to assure safe, efficient, and effective performance.
  • Evaluate and prioritize work to fully utilize co-workers to maintain optimum customer satisfaction and service while meeting high efficiency, productivity, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a pulse on team engagement and consistently leverage opportunities to connect and engage with team members.
  • Recognize individual and team accomplishments.
  • Seek input from co-workers and teams to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Assist in planning and execution of budgets.
