About The Position

The Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing all day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects. This role provides on-site leadership for safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor performance, ensuring work is executed in accordance with contract documents and company standards. The Superintendent partners closely with Project Managers and Field Leadership to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Cost awareness and productivity mindset; comfortable partnering with PM on forecasting/cost-to-complete
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and ethical construction practices
  • Ability to lead crews in high-heat and humid island environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–7 years of experience in commercial construction in a superintendent/assistant superintendent role or 7–10 years in a supervisory trades role with demonstrated field leadership
  • Proven experience supervising subcontractors and field teams
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings/specs and coordinate means/methods/sequencing
  • OSHA 30
  • Proficiency with construction tech and field reporting tools
  • Ability to work extended hours/weekends as required

Nice To Haves

  • Construction Supervisor License
  • Experience using construction management software such as Procore and Primavera P6
  • Experience supporting large or complex commercial construction projects
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior field leadership staff

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities, including subcontractors, specialty vendors/consultants, self-perform labor (as assigned), and field staff.
  • Administer the project safety program and site-specific safety planning; conduct regular safety walks, address hazards promptly, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Serve as, or assign, competent-person coverage for applicable work activities and verify required safe work practices are followed.
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule and short-term look-ahead plans (minimum 3 weeks); coordinate trades and sequencing to meet milestones.
  • Lead the field operating rhythm (e.g., daily huddles/stand-ups and weekly coordination/foreman meetings) to drive readiness, remove constraints, and document action items.
  • Ensure subcontractor readiness and compliance prior to mobilization (required documentation, insurance certificates, and contract scope alignment), and manage subcontractor performance throughout execution.
  • Interpret plans, specifications, submittals, and change documents; resolve field issues and coordinate constructability solutions with the project team.
  • Execute quality control through project quality plans/procedures as required, inspections, testing/inspection coordination, punch list management, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Project Management on cost controls (forecasting/cost-to-complete), time-and-material verification (when applicable), and labor/production tracking.
  • Identify and document field changes and impacts (scope, schedule, cost); maintain accurate field records and support closeout/turnover documentation.
