About The Position

Deacon Construction, LLC is seeking a Superintendent to join our Special Projects team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience supervising commercial tenant improvement projects ranging from $50K to $5.0M. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in field coordination, safety compliance, scheduling, and subcontractor management. Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial construction supervision, preferably in tenant improvement projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with project scheduling software preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety practices and construction industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to motivate and manage field teams effectively.
  • Must be able to plan and execute full project schedules independently.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30 certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Experience with Procore or similar project management software.
  • Familiarity with cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through close-out.
  • Manage field operations, including subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field staff.
  • Maintain and update project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or other scheduling software.
  • Ensure safety compliance with company policies and OSHA standards; promote and enforce a safe job site.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets design specifications and Deacon standards.
  • Facilitate weekly subcontractor meetings and daily coordination to monitor progress and resolve field issues.
  • Track and report labor productivity, material quantities, and equipment utilization.
  • Support job cost control by monitoring budgets, forecasts, and changes in scope.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients to ensure project milestones and expectations are met.
