About The Position

The Woodlands Country Club, Trails Course is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of the golf course maintenance department. This role involves maintaining quality standards, developing and retaining maintenance employees, and exceeding guest expectations while adhering to an annual budget. The ideal candidate will communicate daily with the General Manager and Golf Professional regarding golf course conditions and playability, promote Arcis Golf’s philosophies, conduct monthly audits, and manage a team including an Assistant Superintendent, Irrigation Technician, and Mechanic. The position requires knowledge of irrigation systems, agronomic problem-solving, and equipment calibration. Additionally, the manager will handle Human Resources functions, ensuring employee development and retention, while maintaining a professional image and compliance with laws.

Requirements

  • Two or Four year Turf grass Maintenance degree and supervisory experience required.
  • 5-8 years prior golf course experience with progressive responsibility required.
  • Must hold a State Certified Pesticide License.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Planning and organizational ability.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Daily communication with General Manager/Golf Professional on golf course condition and playability.
  • Promote Arcis Golf’s philosophies throughout the golf course to both employees and guests.
  • Conduct monthly golf course audits.
  • Direct and delegate tasks to Assistant Superintendent, Irrigation Technician, and Mechanic.
  • Review monthly preliminary and final profit/loss statements with General Manager.
  • Keep all permits pertaining to maintenance department up to date.
  • Develop and post Maintenance Plan and Maintenance Standards.
  • Troubleshoot agronomic problems that may occur on the golf course.
  • Calibrate and operate application equipment.
  • Manage Human Resources functions of the maintenance department.
