The Traveling Superintendent leads electrical field operations across Lighthouse Electric projects, ensuring safe, high-quality, and productive execution. This role oversees union crews, coordinates with project teams, and maintains schedule and performance goals while traveling to support business unit projects in multiple regions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years of electrical construction field experience, including leadership of union craft labor.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising electrical crews on commercial and/or industrial construction projects.
  • Proven ability to interpret drawings/specifications and execute field installation plans.
  • Strong leadership and crew development capability in union environments.
  • Working knowledge of electrical construction sequencing, scheduling concepts, and field productivity tracking.
  • Ability to drive accountability while maintaining positive labor relations.
  • Effective coordination skills across field and office teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability in fast-paced jobsite environments.
  • Proficient in construction technology and reporting tools (e.g., daily reports, lookaheads, basic scheduling platforms).
  • Ability to represent Lighthouse Electric professionally with clients and trade partners.
  • High level of organization, follow-through, and field communication discipline.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Electrician certification.
  • Additional construction, safety, or leadership certifications.
  • Journeyman electrician background.
  • Experience on large, complex, or fast-track electrical construction projects.
  • Experience integrating VDC/BIM and prefabrication into field execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical field operations across assigned Lighthouse Electric projects, ensuring safe, productive, and high-quality execution.
  • Direct union electrical crews in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and applicable local work rules.
  • Plan and execute daily and weekly production activities, including manpower loading, crew balancing, and work sequencing.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Management, Planning/Layout/Design, VDC/BIM, Safety, Quality, and Prefabrication teams to ensure install-ready work.
  • Develop and maintain phase plans, weekly work plans, and 3–6 week lookaheads; proactively identify and remove constraints.
  • Monitor field productivity (earned vs. actual hours), implement corrective actions, and support overall labor performance goals.
  • Enforce and model Lighthouse Electric safety expectations, including task planning, job hazard analysis, audits, and stop-work authority when required.
  • Ensure installations meet drawings, specifications, and company quality standards; drive punch list and turnover readiness.
  • Maintain professional relationships with general contractors, owners, union representatives, and trade partners.
  • Produce accurate and timely field documentation, including daily reports, manpower tracking, delays, and progress updates.
  • Travel to and support multiple Lighthouse Electric business unit projects as assigned.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
