Reviews and authenticates all Test Procedures, Command Media Work Instructions and Procedures, Critical Processes and other engineering operational and major vendor test documents to assure that testing can be performed in a practical and economic manner. Ensures the proper preparation of propulsion, major auxiliaries, electronics/weapons/assault and preventive maintenance requirements prior to sea trials. Ensures completion of all dockside tests prior to sea trials for all ship’s equipment. Directs the recording and authentication of data required by test documents; supports Quality Assurance in the certification and verification of test completions. Provides Security Watches to maintain adequate damage control on waterborne vessels; ensures that a 24-hour surveillance inspection is conducted of all floating vessels’ "wet" spaces and other specified spaces.Coordinates vendor activities pertaining to HM&E equipment installed aboard the vessel, ensuring control of test status and re-entry control. Initiates rip outs when required and prescribes re-test requirements. Executes Rip outs and ensures Mechanical Tag-Outs are properly enforced and maintained as required by test and retest work instructions and procedures. Determines manpower/skill levels, equipment, special requirements and budget limitations; and evaluates performance concerning predicted completion dates, budget overruns and quality deficiencies. Additional common management responsibilities as listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 within command media (SBMC 0001) and applicants should review the Charter and policies and procedures before applying for position.
