About The Position

This position is located in Florence, South Carolina. The Area Superintendent will be Responsible for management oversight of a designated area in D779. Manages and directs the daily activities of multiple operations to achieve department and facility goals and business objectives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to goal setting, measuring attainment to the goals and meeting department safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives. The applicant should have a proven track record in safety, maintaining quality, achieving schedules, initiating process improvements and be a good communicator. Ability to motivate and train first line supervision. Should promote employee development and training. Must be able to promote a positive team environment, as well as interact with all levels of management and the customer. Must be able to interface with Human Resources and resolve employee issues. People: Those responsibilities related to managing human capital and culture within the department or other areas of responsibility. Provide input on manpower needs to the department manager Assist with succession planning and talent management within the department Interview, and recommend best candidates for supervisory positions and when necessary Improve workforce capabilities by identifying needed training Establish and communicate work expectations; assess overall workforce performance and productivity; positively motivate the workforce Create an engaging workplace climate; reinforce desired workforce values and behaviors; continuously improve morale. Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of supervisor (with direct reports) experience
  • 6+ years ship-fitter or welder trade experience
  • 6+ years of experience in NEWCON manufacturing
  • Available to work all shifts and extended hours as business needs dictate
  • Ability to obtain a positive background check
  • Must be able to promote a positive team environment
  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of management and the customer
  • Must have the ability to interface with Human Resources and to resolve employee issues
  • Must possess strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Candidate must be an effective writer/reviewer of technical correspondence
  • Attention to detail is a must
