About The Position

The Superintendent- Repair at TK Elevator is responsible for overseeing repair operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the department. This role involves conducting quality audits, assisting mechanics, and providing technical input to sales staff, while maintaining compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and general management skills, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or two years of experience managing at a branch departmental level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to write reports, contract proposals, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and customers.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Visit job sites and perform quality audits to ensure efficient and cost-effective route work completion.
  • Perform NIM job audits within 15 days of construction and modernization turnovers, identifying issues affecting equipment reliability and providing feedback for future improvements.
  • Assist mechanics with jobs, including troubleshooting and on-the-job training.
  • Review route profitability and call backs using accounting reports, providing feedback and data to management.
  • Participate in and assist with safety training.
  • Provide technical input to sales staff regarding the scope of work and materials needed for repair bids, including calculating labor and material costs.
  • Provide feedback to the service manager prior to field evaluations and performance ratings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements.
  • Stay familiar with company products through training and updates, working with regional field trainers.
  • Determine materials needed for repairs and order parts as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
