About The Position

The Senior Public Service Administrator (SPSA) position at the Illinois Youth Center Lincoln involves planning, developing, organizing, controlling, and managing the programs and operations of the facility. The role requires the development and implementation of policies and procedures, as well as maintaining communication with various organizations and officials. The position also includes supervising staff and ensuring the operational effectiveness of the facility through inspections and record maintenance.

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in criminal justice, education, psychology, social work, or a closely related social science.
• Requires four (4) years of management experience in a juvenile justice setting with two (2) years of responsibility for facility management.

Responsibilities

• Plans, administers, and directs overall facility operations and programs activities.
• Serves as full line supervisor.
• Formulates and implements institutional directives, policies, procedures, and objectives governing employee and youth activities.
• Conducts inspections of facility grounds, buildings, and equipment for safety, security, sanitation, efficiency, and maintenance procedures.
• Maintains required records.
• Consults with court and law enforcement officials and other agencies or specialists regarding care and custody of youth.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
