About The Position

The Superintendent in a Developing Market role at Midsouth Steel involves overseeing construction projects in Central Florida, focusing on both sales and operational management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, particularly in steel fabrication and erection, and will be responsible for developing new business relationships while ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Requirements

• Experience as a Superintendent or Foreman in construction.
• Business development and sales experience.
• Knowledge of the steel business with manufacturing and installation experience.
• Experience working on multifamily projects as a steel supplier or managing a DIV 5 Subcontractor.
• Must have OSHA 30 certification and CPR certification.
• Clean motor vehicle driving record.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the Southeastern United States construction market.
• Familiarity with safety training for subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Establish leads with current and new customers.
• Initiate prequalification process with customers.
• Develop new business while maintaining relationships with current Florida clients.
• Find local subcontractors to perform scope of work.
• Assist with installations on job sites and answer installation questions.
• Coordinate deliveries and install dates with GC/CM Superintendent.
• Perform field measuring where applicable.
• Train subcontractors on installations and safety protocols.
• Schedule deliveries and equipment, ensuring subcontractor personnel are on site to receive and inventory deliveries.
• Ensure equipment is returned to rental after job completion.
• Manage day-to-day activities of subcontractors, including weekly communication with GC/CM.
• Maintain project-specific plans including production, shipping, and installations.
• Complete daily reports of activities, sales calls, and job site visits.
