About The Position

The Superintendent, Facilities (Fire Suppression) position at New York City Transit is responsible for planning, organizing, directing units, and managing personnel in activities related to the maintenance and construction of Infrastructure assets within the Division of Facilities. This includes overseeing Yards & Barns, Heating & Air Conditioning, Fire Suppression & Building Maintenance. The role involves managing construction projects in subways, yards, and structures, developing cost estimates, and ensuring that Infrastructure assets are safe, cost-effective, and reliable. The Superintendent will also assume the duties of the General Superintendent in their absence.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma and five (5) years of full-time related experience, with three (3) years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
• A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

• Strong knowledge of MTA NYCT rules and regulations.
• Strong maintenance and operating experience.
• Knowledge of construction trade, project management, and maintenance management techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in EAM/Infor and Microsoft Outlook 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct units related to maintenance and construction of Infrastructure assets.
• Manage personnel in the Facilities subdivision.
• Oversee construction projects in subways, yards, and structures.
• Develop cost estimates for maintenance and construction activities.
• Provide necessary inspection, maintenance, repair, and construction activities.
• Ensure Infrastructure assets are safe, cost-effective, and reliable.
• Assume duties of the General Superintendent in their absence.
