Requirements

  • Journeyman Certificate.
  • High school Graduate, Holder of G.E.D., or equivalent studies/experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of previous experience, preferably in distribution and small transmission construction.
  • Valid Class A CDL.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCCO certification (preferred, not required).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work along with a crew consisting of Journeyman, Apprentices, Operators, and Groundmen.
  • Lay out work and ensure that materials, tools, equipment, and information are on the job site in the proper locations to meet construction schedules.
  • Monitor work in progress and evaluate fellow employees' work performance.
  • Train field personnel in technical skills and safety methods.
  • Ensure compliance with Company/Job Safety Requirements (O.S.H.A.) and Company Policies.
  • Apply discipline to field staff when necessary.
  • Ensure all emergency phone numbers and hospital locations are understood by the team.
  • Cooperate with the Safety Department to investigate safety incidents.
  • Ensure safety information is posted and disseminated to all field personnel.
  • Ensure minor maintenance and service of equipment and tools.
  • Organize materials and tools to maintain clean and neat work areas.
  • Install electrical systems as required and troubleshoot wiring.
  • Communicate with crew, subcontractors, and owners to maintain good working relationships.
  • Oversee time reporting and proper coding of time sheets.
  • Complete general project paperwork and documentation timely and accurately.
