About The Position

The position involves providing technical support and expertise for AEP systems across various brands, focusing on upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance. The role includes managing maintenance projects at dry/wet docks, ensuring compliance with safety and operational regulations, and communicating project statuses to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution or international equivalent preferred.
  • Chief Engineer license preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Naval Architect or Marine/Mechanical Engineer preferred.
  • Experience in a ship management organization or classification society is a plus.
  • Previous commissioning, operational, or major repair project experience required.
  • Working knowledge of steel structure, welding applications, electrical systems, and shipyard disciplines.
  • Understanding of DNV requirements, USCG, and Flag state regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of safe work practices in shipyard environments.
  • Ability to manage financial aspects and identify cost efficiencies.
  • Ability to manage headcount and human resources functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with maintenance databases such as Amos.
  • Familiarity with software packages like AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Acrobat.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain communications with Marine Operations to ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Ensure communication and approval from relevant authorities for changes to equipment onboard.
  • Participate in creating planning models based on needs assessments.
  • Conduct pilot programs on equipment with ship's personnel as directed by management.
  • Assist in developing long-range planning and objectives with senior management.
  • Develop and update the RCI AEP Maintenance Strategy, including procedures and documentation.
  • Create an AEP Systems reference library.
  • Collaborate with management and manufacturers to enhance AEP technology for improved reliability and maintenance.
  • Provide reports, evaluate data, and recommend adjustments to plans.
  • Participate in AEP repair scheduling and budgeting.
  • Research and identify new industry technology for RCI ships.
  • Oversee technically related incidents, ensuring proper investigation and corrective actions.
