As part of the healthcare team, the VPOT must be comfortable using computer technology and sitting for extended periods in front of a computer screen. The technician must be able to analyze and synthesize patient safety information to determine appropriate actions, make quick decisions under pressure, and manage stress effectively. The role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a keen attention to detail, as the VPOT will monitor multiple patients simultaneously. Good telephone etiquette and the ability to communicate effectively are also essential for this position, especially since bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred. The VPOT will work in a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays, ensuring that patient monitoring is continuous and effective.
