About The Position

Responsible for supervising/ coaching/ mentoring STAR/ CHIP/ or STAR Kids workgroups (Pods) comprised of Service Coordinators/ Case Managers, UM/ECM RN and support staff to achieve department goals and objectives. This role also acts as a process owner and subject matter expert for program benefits and long term supports and services (LTSS.). Cook Children's Health Plan provides vital coverage to nearly 120,000 people in low-income families who qualify for government-sponsored programs in our six county service region. Cook Children's Health Plan provides health coverage for CHIP, CHIP Perinatal, STAR (Medicaid) and STAR Kids Members in the Tarrant county service area. The counties served include Tarrant, Johnson, Denton, Parker, Hood and Wise. Requirements

  • Licensed Social Worker
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience
  • Masters Level Social Work degree (LMSW and/or LCSW) required
  • 3 to 5 years case management or utilization management experience required
  • Proficiency in use of computer applications
  • Typing speed (35 words per minute minimum)
  • Current Social Work licensure in the State of Texas
  • Strong skills in Oral and written communication
  • Strong skills in Problem-solving
  • Strong skills in Organization and time management
  • Strong skills in Customer service
  • Strong skills in Knowledge of adult teaching and learning
  • Strong skills in Coaching

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in case management (CCM) preferred
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
